Martijn van Calmthout

Chief Science and commentator of the Volkskrant.

He studied physics in Utrecht and writes about the exact sciences. He has published, among other things, the biographical ‘Einstein's licht’(2005) and ‘Einstein in een Notendop’(2008). He is one of the initiators of the BètaCanon (2009) and maker of ‘Brieven aan Darwin’ (2010).

Every month van Calmthout presents the live Knowledge Café in ‘de Balie’ in Amsterdam and on Fridays he can be listened to on HoeZo-Radio of the NTR. He has been working off and on at the first biography of physicist and war hero Sam Goudsmit.
