Kees Recourt
Investment Manager Mibiton Foundation
Kees Recourt graduated in Molecular Biology from the University of Utrecht and did a PhD in Leiden, The Netherlands, on signal molecules in early stages of nitrogen fixation. He also received a BSc in Electrical engineering.
In 1991 he joined the ATO-DLO institute at Wageningen to perform research on the molecular aspects of food quality and collaborated with large companies such as Nestlé, Danone and Hak. In 1999, he moved to a small private technology transfer company, Licentec, in the Utrecht area. Since then, his activities are related to the commercialisation of early Agro-, Food- and Medical Life Sciences technologies.
From June 2004, he became Investment Manager of the Mibiton
Foundation, a revolving fund dedicated to investing in Life
Sciences equipment and facilities at SMEs and Research
Organisations (€25 million invested). In addition, he manages
entrepreneurial training programmes such as the Niaba Biobusiness
Masterclass and the IOP Masterclass Photonics Entrepreneurship.
Kees is a board member of the Dutch Small Business Innovation
program (Technology Foundation STW), the NGI Pre-Seed Grant and a
member of the NGI Venture Challenge committee.
